Melbourne Cup Day

Were you at a Melbourne Cup lunch today? I was. Every year the great girls (and great tennis players) that I play tennis with get together for a Cup lunch. Today we had a delicious lunch, a lot of fun and laughter, much admiring of the photo of Oscar Eddy - Oh - and we watched the race. I managed to win a little of my sweep money back on Mahler, who ran third. This is a pic of the tennis girls before lunch - and before too much champagne!

Today a 'good medicine' gathering with special friends and tomorrow - my first dose of chemo. Yuk!

Hi Terrie. The Melbourne Cup sounds like you had soem fun. Like you, I backed Mahler (and Purple Moon). However, decided that Efficient was in my past life, so decided against it. Oh well! Bummer about the next tumours/chemo episodes. Will think about you especially over next few days. Joan had also become a 'new' grandma as her daughter Gemma had a son. We are just back from Wilson's Promontory - before the rain hit. Had a great time and walked lots of the tracks and took some lovely photographs. Have booked our 2 months to Italy and France leaving May 3rd - finally staying in Port Townsend US (Washington) with the 'girl' I lived with in NY when I was teaching there as a young thing. CYA soon for a game of golf...or come down here for a few days.

Woah! I'm really digging the template/theme of this site. It's simple,
yet effective. A lot of times it's very hard to get that "perfect balance" between user friendliness and visual appeal. I must say that you've done a amazing job with this.
In addition, the blog loads very quick for me on Internet explorer.

Exceptional Blog!
